ARTICLE I
NAME
The name of this Community shall be Lighthouse Beach Cat Club. Said community shall operate from the beach located at the east end of Lakeside Blvd. in the Town of Parma, New York.
ARTICLE II
OBJECT
The object of this Community shall be to provide a beach catamaran sailing and racing facility for the members of the parent Society, Hobie Cats Of Rochester, New York Fleet 295.
ARTICLE III
MEMBERS
Section 1 The members of this Community shall be limited to the membership of the Society.
Section 2 The annual dues shall be payable in advance of a member locating their boat at the Community site each year.
ARTICLE IV
OFFICERS
Section 1 The officer of the Community shall be the Beachmaster. This officer shall perform the duties prescribed by these bylaws and by the parliamentary authority adopted by the Society and Community.
Section 2 Election of the Beachmaster shall occur in the manner defined by Article IV of the Society bylaws.
Section 3 The Beachmaster shall hold office for a term of one year.
ARTICLE V
MEETINGS
Section 1 The Community shall hold a minimum of one meeting each year exclusive of any scheduled meeting of the parent Society. This meeting shall be held in advance of the annual commencement of operations at the Community site. The meeting shall have the purpose of discussing the needs of the community, any changes in operational rules from the prior year, receiving reports and committees and for any other business that may arise.
Section 2 Special meetings or polls may be called by the Beachmaster or Commodore. The purpose of the meeting or poll shall be stated. Except in cases of emergency, at least three days notice shall be given for a meeting.
Section 3 One half of the Beach Committee membership shall constitute a quorum.
ARTICLE
VI
THE BEACH COMMITTEE
Section 1 The Beachmaster, the Commodore, and a maximum of five (5) Community members shall constitute the Beach Committee.
Section 2 The Beach Committee shall be given general supervision of the affairs of the Community between its business meetings, fix the hour and place of meetings, make recommendations to the Community, and shall perform such other duties as are specified in these bylaws. The Beach Committee shall be subject to the Community, and none of its acts shall conflict with action taken by the Community.
Section 3 Unless otherwise ordered by the Committee, regular meetings of the Committee shall be held on the second Monday of each month just prior to the Community meeting. Special meetings of the Beach Committee may be called by the Beachmaster or Commodore.
ARTICLE VII
COMMITTEES
Committees, standing or special shall be appointed by the Beachmaster as the Community or the Beach Committee shall from time to time deem necessary to carry on the work of the Community. The Beachmaster shall be ex officio a member of any committee.
ARTICLE VIII
PARLIAMENTARY
AUTHORITY
The rules contained in the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised shall govern the Community in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws and any special rules of order the Community may adopt.
ARTICLE IX
AMENDMENT OF BYLAWS
These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the Beach Committee provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing at a previous regular meeting.
